“Empowering the Youth, Powering the Nation!” is the primary vision of National Yuva Co-Operative Society. NYCS had organized, “युवा मंथन”, a brainstorming two days program on 21st and 22nd February 2018. India is a young country. Half of its population is under the age of 25 and two-thirds are less than 35 years of age. India is likely to have world’s largest workforce by 2027. Yuva Manthan was organized to inspire and ignite these young minds and act as a common platform for the policymakers and executers to understand the guiding principle for successful execution of developmental schemes in India.
Government of India has been persuading youth to assimilate such skills to make them self-sufficient in developmental activities. NYCS, being a driver in this process has initiated many innovative programs to give pragmatic solutions to the youth.
Shri Sanjay Pachpor (National Organising Secretary – Sahakar Bharati) inaugurated the program with his experienced and motivational words. He highlighted the importance of cooperative structure in youth empowerment and further stressed the importance of taking the Cooperative movement to the grass-root level and across different sectors. Shri Prakash Sahu (President-NYCS) focused on capacity building of NYCS team. Shri Rajesh Pande (Chairman, Managing Committee-NYCS) mentioned various guiding principles and importance of youth empowerment at the local level.
NYCS is working across 603 districts in India. In the second half of the session, Division wise presentation was made to create awareness about NYCS & its activities across the nation. Dr. Umesh Londhe (ED-NYCS), Dr. Umesh Shelar (GM-Jana Nidhi) and Shri Sehturaman (GM-Jana Nidhi) gave a detailed presentation on the microfinance activities of NYCS through its Jan Nidhi division and the functioning of NYCS Jan Nidhi centre. He also gave an insight about Yuva Sahakar, a monthly newsletter of NYCS.
Vice President of NYCS, Shri Manish Kumar briefed the attendees about Bio Urja Utsav organized by NYCS. He appreciated and thanked NYCS representatives for successfully executing the event across 100 locations of the country.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is one of the flagship programs of the government to make quality medicines available at affordable prices for all, particularly for the poor and under privileged. Shri Ashutosh Gupta (Director –NYCS) along with Shri Rupesh Chowdhary (Sr. Manager NYCS) and Shri. Shreerang Kulkarni (ED-NYCS) explained about the functioning of Jan Aushadhi centres operated by NYCS.
NYCS GAIL Indian Speedstar, a unique Pan India talent scouting program is about to create a milestone in the history of Indian Athletics. It is strengthening the sport of athletics with a talent pool to make Indian Athletics competent at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Shri Hiranya Mohanty (Director-NYCS) along with Smt. Manpreet Narang (GM–Sports) & Ms Harsha Kashyap (Manager-Sports) showcased NYCS GAIL Raftar journey from Season I to Season III. They congratulated the NYCS team who joined for the event from across the nation in concluding successfully yet another season of GAIL Indian Speed star and gave information about Jamaica International camp where 14 athletes from Season I & II participated.
Smt. Purnima Jindal (GM–Skills) and Shri Vivek Surve (GM-Mumbai Operations) NYCS discussed about Skill Training and Entrepreneurship division (KOVIDA). Skill development is the need of the hour. A synopsis was presented on how to connect the dots between soft skills and employability skills along with bridging the gap between the demand and supply of trained manpower. It was followed by the discussion on NYCS Skill current activities and future plans. Representatives from around 450 districts from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Kutch to Kohima participated in the session. Shri. Dilip Saikia (Director-NYCS) concluded the session.
The technical session of Yuva Manthan was conducted on 22nd Feb 2018. We had the honour of having Shri Manish Kumar (MD, CEO-NSDC), Smt. Nivedita Gupta (Deputy Director General-Ministry of MSME) and Shri Gunnet Malik (Invest India) the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency of the Government of India as the keynote speakers.
Shri Gunnet Malik focussed on strengthening the Start-Up ecosystem and role that individuals can play at their local level. Shri Manish Kumar explained the various government programs such as PMKVY, RPL, Special Projects and PMKK. Smt. Nivedita Gupta explained about the micro, small and medium enterprises and its role in strengthening the nation. Shri Manish Kumar, Vice President, NYCS coordinated the technical session with utmost grace and poise.
We were fortunate to have Shri Sunil Ambekar (National Organising Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad) as the Guest of Honour for the concluding session. He expressed that such initiatives should be taken time and again to experience change at the Bottom of Pyramid. The concluding remarks were given by Smt. Madhubala Saboo, Director, NYCS.
Shri Jaikant Singh (Head, Partnership Development and State Alliance- NSDC), Shri Dheeraj Sharma (General Manager-BPPI), Shri Vaibhav Dange (PS to Hon’ble Road, Transport & Shipping Minister) and all the Board of Directors and staffs of NYCS were present to grace the occasion of Yuva Manthan. All the guests were felicitated by Angavastra (Veil) and Bags prepared by NYCS KOVIDA Training Centre trainees’ batch at Vikaspuri New Delhi.
