In the view of the skill development scenario, KOVIDA (Sanskrit for “Skills”) - a special division of NYCS started in 2015 has undertaken technical trainings for economically underprivileged youth population of the country. As a part of this project, NYCS has conducted employment / self-employment based training programme for unemployed youths of India. The training programme also focuses on women empowerment. The trades / job roles identified are as per NSDC guidelines and are selected based on the preferred sectors provided in the Skill Gap report. It has conducted CSR trainings of MNGL, MGL and IGL- leading natural gas distributors of India. India is the largest democracy in the world and the youth of the country is revolutionary. NYCS believes that youths are the backbone of our economic development of the Nation. Channelizing the strength of our youth is the key to make the nation self-sustainable. On this background, NYCS being the organization working for the youth for their economic development through supporting the various innovative ideas in production, manufacturing, servicing etc. has launched KOVIDA for facilitating entrepreneurship and self-employment through skilling youth and other stakeholders in various trades. In a very short span we take this pride in organizing Skill training activities across the nation while working in all the components of PMKVY i.e., Short Term training, Special Projects and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The realistic picture of skilled India has not yet been achieved due to lack of rendering proper knowledge and training to people. Though the requirement of skilled manpower in various fields is incredibly high, the supply & its availability are very low. The skilled manpower which India can provide to the world and deploy in various sectors for its own industrial growth holds immense potential. KOVIDA aims to provide the entire value chain from skill development programme, entrepreneurship promotion, incubation/ placement assistance to linking to financial institutions, handholding and mentoring for enterprise creation.
